Built in 1905 as Lawrence Hardware at a cost of $20,000. The original
high Victorian facade was altered to the current art deco look in 1937
when it became the Avolie Theatre. It has continued as a theatre
building to the present. Painted ads from the original hardware store
can still be seen on the top northeast side of the building.
